K-Swiss by Hederus Packaging & Catalogue

Project primarily in packaging innovation. Approached Swedish designer Julia Hederus and K-Swiss to redesign the existing packaging for the Hederus/K-Swiss range of shoes released '08. The end result was a set of 3 limited edition boxes that would tessilate with each other indefinatley. There was no printed design on the box, only a white spot varnish applied to areas. The POS was a simple but effective solution, the boxes were velcroed to the shop wall in their tessilating pattern.

Collabortation with Giles Harper and Chris Broughton setting up Fre3 Design Studio. The worlds first design studio that offers completely free graphic design. Philosophy being that, with the current economic climate, companies are less likely to want to pay for design. Fre3 beleives that good graphic design should not just fade away with lack of funds, and therefore offer it completely free. Website not live yet but will update link when it is.

Get Together with Emporio Armani

Working on a competition brief for Emporio Armani. Required to make a 30 second advert on the theme of getting together. The concept for the film is showing people running away from jobs and tasks normally associated with being done solo e.g. food shopping, showering and running, and getting together in an organic environment. Above is the end screen shot for the print that would work in conjunction with the advert. Below is the final advert.

Further to 'History of Dogging' i wanted to follow the spoof through to its natural conclusion and spoof 'Future of Gaming' which was the second in the series of films commissioned by Playstation. I decided to take a darker look at dogging of the future in a world as if "Stan Collymore never happened".

Grimms Fairy Tales

The response to a 4 week brief which called for a book to be designed which included between 8 and 14 of the Grimms Fairy Tales. I chose to create a simple and traditional design of the book as i felt this best reflects the values of these stories. Illustration credits go to Daniel Lewsley.

Branding Lime

Commissioned to brand a club night at La Piazza in Loughborough called LimeLight. The night features live electric and acoustic sets from many great local acts as well as some from further afield. Above is a sample poster for the night. i decided to keep it simple and go with the idea of literal lime coloured light. Using a gray neutral typeface it all comes together to give the night an identity to call its own.

Self initiated short project intended to be a spoof of Johnny Hardstaffs 'History of Gaming' for Playstation 2. Where Hardstaff uses the visual elements found in gaming throughout the ages to portray his retro look at its history, i used recognizable elements of dogging, including Stan Collymore', to create this fun spoof.

Vintage Decadence: Lust as Packaging

Required to promote the sin of lust in the format of packaging. I decided to set out creating complex nets that when constructed would resemble a vintage jewelry box, lipstick container and vanity case. I wanted to crate something that was tangible and would arouse the senses as well as being visual, so the constructed nets were then wrapped in red satin and tied with a pint ribbon so that to get into the box you had to literally undress it. Upon opening the box the product would be resting on a bed of satin with scented petals underneath, slightly visible through the satin. The art work of the late great Alphons Mucha was also employed as i felt his artistic creations fitted beautifully with my lustful brand.

Terror Chique: Abercrombie & Fitch

A response to a brief that called for a complete rebrand of Abercrombie & Fitch for the Palestinians. I wanted to empower the Palestinians will positive images or conflict as there views on war are different to a westernized audience Abercrombie & Fitch is used to. The Arabic text on the 3 large prints are speaches from political leaders like Yasser Arafat on the subject of conflict.
